Bridge over still waters

A night time scene of the world famous Tyne Bridge. This portrait shot is taken from the unusual perspective from directly under the bridge from the banks of the river on the Gateshead side.

What in the North of England is more iconic or recognisable than the Tyne Bridge.

The bridge was designed by the engineering firm Mott, Hay and Anderson and built by Dorman Long and Co. of Middlesbrough. The Bridge was officially opened on October 10 1928 by His Majesty King George V.

Wherever you may be in the world all you have to do is look at this magnificent piece of Engineering and you will forever have a little piece of home.
