Bambrugh is a village located on the northern coastline of Northumberland. Bambrugh Castle which sits proudly on its shores is the historical seat of the kings of Northumberland.

It is also the final resting place of the Victorian heroine Grace Darling, and was said to be the location where St Aidan died in AD 652.

It also has some of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the region.

It is a very popular tourist location and with views like these you can see why.

Yesterday morning i dragged myself out of bed at 5.15am. Anyone who knows me knows that this is a monumental task at the best of times.

I was determined to make it Bambrugh Castle for sunrise. It is a such a beautiful place.

It would be hard to argue that it is most likely one of the most picturesque locations in the north east. So after a 1 minute exposure time and very wet feet I give you my take on Bambrugh Castle at sunrise.

Bambrugh castle reflecting in the wet sand of Bambrugh Beach

To me this is possibly my favourite photograph that i have ever taken. not least for the effort it took to get their in time, but also for the composition of the image. if you like it as much as me, can find this picture in my shop.

let me know what you think.
The post Reflections in the sand first appeared on .

So I managed to get out all day with the camera. we’ve had amazing sunrises all week, however the one day I go out it decides to try and ruin me with a seriously dull sky; and it threatened to rain all day. However myself and my friend Ra stuck it out and the sky changed for the better. I ended up with a few long exposures that I feel made the day worthwhile.
